Being an Aussie I naturally started buying Australian lotteries tickets online. I found the best lottery site for purchasing Australian lottery tickets online to be Oz Lotteries. The main reason for this being that they are based right here in Australia. They have two offices, TMS Global Services Pty. Ltd. being located at Suite 604, 370 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne, VIC 3004, Australia and TMS New South Wales which is located at Suite 13, 89-97 Jones Street, Ultimo, NSW, Australia.

I’ve been using them for years, way before I even thought about starting this site. Sorry guys, but at the time it never even occurred to me that I should be sharing this with all you guys out there.  Still, like they say, better late than never right? At least now you have the chance to get your lottery tickets online as well.

Oz Lotteries How Long Have They Been Operating?

“TMS Global Services Pty. Ltd was established in 1984 and TMS New South Wales (formerly Sydney Lottery Services) was established in 1990. Both companies distribute lottery products worldwide via mail-order, and TMS is a direct lottery service partner for a number of Asian and South Pacific nations.”

Is It More Expensive To Buy Your Lottery Tickets Online?

The answer is yes it is, but I think you will find that Oz Lotteries is a lot cheaper than a lot of the other online lottery sites who sell Aussie lotto tickets. The reason for the added expense is account for additional costs for purchasing lottery products online compared to buying them from your traditional retail agency.  These charges cover, amongst other things, the cost of providing a secure internet based system, and are approved under the regulatory framework that governs the sale of Lotteries in the jurisdictions OzLotteries.com is accredited in.

I’m From Queensland Why Can’t I Get My Lottery Tickets Online

Actually you can, just not from Oz Lotteries. I’m not exactly sure of the reason but from what I can gather it has something to do with your State Government. The same goes for anyone living in the States!

Can I use PayPal To Buy My Lottery Tickets?

Yes you can!  Oz Lotteries is the online online lottery site that offers PayPal as an option to purchase your lottery tickets online. They were only allowed to do this once they assured the guys at PayPal that US residents would not be able to use their services. Sorry guys, but you can always buy your tickets by using one of the other online lottery agents I recommend on this site.

Which Australian Lotteries Can I Buy Online?

oz lotteries

One of the things I love about the Australian lotteries is the variety of lotteries they have on hand. I’ll list them and then you can tell me in the comments which one you find the most interesting.

Lotto Strike: Lotto Strike isn’t a game you can play on it’s own. You can only play it once you buy a ticket from either the Monday, Wednesday or Saturday Lotto. The way you win Lotto Strike picking four numbers that correctly match the exact order of the first four Lotto balls drawn. Do that and you can Strike It Rich with a minimum prize of $100,000! Even more when there is a Lotto Strike jackpot! You’re also a winner if you match just one, two or three of the first four Lotto balls, in exactly the same order drawn. The best thing is it only costs you $1.50 a game.

OZ Lotto: In this game you choose 7 numbers out of 45. Then on Tuesday night 7 9 balls are drawn from the old lotto machine that contains the 45 bals. Of the 9 balls drawn the first 7 are the winning numbers and the last 2 are supplementary. The supplementary numbers are used to determine the prizes in Divisions 2, 4 and 7. Each game will set you back $1.35

Wednesday Lotto: Drawn every Wednesday you choose 6 numbers out of the 45. In this game 8 balls are drawn. The first 6 are the winning numbers. The final 2 are supplementary numbers which are used to determine prizes in Divisions 2, 5 & 6. Each game in the Wednesday Loto only costs $0.65

Powerball: They went all out when designing this game.  :wink2: They actually use two lottery ball machines drawing 2 numbers from each machine. The first one contains 40 balls numbered from 1 to 40 and the second one contains 20 balls numbered from 1 to 20. To play this game you choose 6 numbers from the first range of 1 to 40 and a Powerball number from the second range of 1 to 20. When they do the draw the first machine draws 6 winning numbers. and then one ball, the Powerball number, is drawn from the second machine. Each game in the Powerball costs $1.05

Saturday Lotto: Yep, this one is drawn on Saturday and is my favourite. Don’t know why, perhaps because it was the first every lottery, the others coming online later. Again the barrel contains 45 numbers from which you choose 6. Like the Wednesday Lotto 8 numbers are drawn, the six winning numbers and the two supplementary numbers. Saturday Lotto only costs $0.85 per game.

The Pools: This game is for the sportsman. Although its ased on Australian and European soccer matches you don’t actually need to know anything about Soccer. You just play it like a normal lottery game. Each week, 38 matches are listed and numbered 1 to 38. For a standard game you simply choose 6 numbers from 1 to 38.

The 6 matches that accumulate to the highest total drawn scores are the winning numbers (e.g. Match A with a final score of 4-4 has a higher total score than Match B which finished 3-3). The 7th highest result is the supplementary number. Each game will cost you $0.75. You normally get the results on Monday after the last game is played and the dividends on Tuesday. Must give this Pools thing a shot one day. Who knows, maybe it’s the one that will bring me in the cash.

Lucky Lotteries $2 Jackpot: This guy is more like a raffle than a lottery. Each $2 Jackpot Lottery has a set number of ticket numbers to be sold (225,000). Once all are sold the draw for that particular lottery can take place. You may choose to be allocated either random (to a maximum of 5) or sequential ticket numbers – but you can’t select your own numbers. In other words you play the hand you’re dealt. 😉 If nobody wins the prize jackpots until someone wins. The beauty about this game is you don’t have to share the prize if you win. Whether you buy the sequential or random tickets it will cost you $2.65 per game.

Lucky Lotteries $5 Jackpot: Pretty well like Lucky Lotteries $2 Jackpot. The main difference being it costs $6.45 a game and has a guaranteed minimum jackpot of $1,000,000 whereas Lucky Lotteries $2 Jackpot has a guaranteed minimum of $500,000.
